Brass Union Brings Beer and Video Games to the Former Site of Precint Bar Near AVA Somerville

When Precinct Bar closed its doors to make way for Brass Union, many Somerville customers mourned its loss. Their grief was short-lived, however, because Brass Union quickly debuted near AVA Somerville, offering a fun atmosphere, extensive beer and cocktail lists, and gourmet cuisine that rivaled those of 70 Union Square's former tenant.

Brass Union puts a new twist on the former Union Square Police Station—which happens to be underground—with its collection of retro video games. Play a round of Frogger or Pac-Man, or grab the Connect Four or Jenga and start at match at your table. While you do, you can sip on a "beginner," "intermediate," or "expert" cocktail, categorized by their respective strength. If you consider yourself an expert, try the Green Line Extension with brandy, bourbon, Green chartreuse, and Angostura bitters. You can also opt for a beer from the bar's decent list of drafts and bottles. Make sure to soak up the libations with something from the food menu—Yelp reviewers highly recommend the mushroom toast.
