COVID-19 Deferred Rent Payment Plans
At AvalonBay, we understand this is an uncertain and difficult time for many. As a resident, you may feel additional stress regarding your upcoming rent payment to the extent you’re experiencing a financial hardship resulting from the impact of the COVID-19 virus. To help alleviate some of your concerns, we’ve elected to offer new options to help you through any financial hardship, including the following:
- Crediting back to your account all telephone payment convenience fees through June 1, 2020 to the extent you elect to pay your rent with a credit card or debit card via phone. We know that for many people using a credit card makes it easier to manage payments over time and would like to make that option available to you at no cost. Please also note that some credit card companies are foregoing interest during this difficult period, so you may want to contact your credit card provider to inquire about this option. If you would like to use a credit or debit card to pay your rent with our automated payment processing system, please call us at 877-282-6246 and select option 1. **Please be advised that your credit card will be billed the $38 processing fee for every $2,500 payment processed however, we will be crediting this amount on your AvalonBay rental account within 3-5 business days following your transaction.
- Allowing flexible transfers without penalty to another AvalonBay apartment home, whether within your community or elsewhere in the Avalon family of communities, that may better fit your current financial situation.
We may be able to provide you with payment plan options to the extent you’re experiencing significant financial hardship related to COVID-19.
