Everything You Need To Know About Hosting A Fourth Of July Party This Year
Staying in for the 4th this year? Host a festive party at your new Avalon San Dimas home instead! With numerous shops and eateries close at hand, you can easily create a memorable and safe night of fun with friends and family in the comfort of this gated, upscale community.
World Market is the convenient place to go for all your American Holiday decorating needs. From patriotic bunting flags, garlands, pillows, string lights and place settings, this nearby home goods store is the one stop shop to get your place bursting with red, white and blue. And a room isn’t complete without a freshly arranged bouquet of white and blue or white and red flowers that you can order down the street from O’Malley’s Flowers – they’re sure to truly top off your party.
As soon as your guests arrive, start them off with Trader Joe’s refreshing recipe of mango limeaditas and enjoy them on your private patio. Then head on down to the community BBQs to fire up your main course of homemade ribs. With Trader Joe’s located only 5 minutes west of the community, you’ll be able to find all the ingredients you need to create these yummy summer recipes effortlessly.
If you don’t feel like cooking, how about bringing in some juicy cheesesteak sandwiches from Philly’s Best? Located just two miles west of the community, this authentic Philly neighborhood steak shop would be the perfect reminder of where our nation’s independence all started over 200 years ago. If our Founding Fathers knew anything about these mouthwatering Italian beef delights back then, it’s not a long shot to imagine that’s how they would have celebrated the signing of the Declaration of Independence!
End the night with a unanimously festive treat of funnel cake from World Market. There is no need travel from event to event in search of this infamous carnival goodie, when you can purchase the quick and easy starter kit just down the road. And of course, this fried dessert isn’t complete unless topped with plump fresh strawberries and blueberries that you can find two days before at the local Farmers Market held every Wednesday evening, two quick blocks east of the apartments.
Even when living in the cozy and quaint town of San Dimas, you’ll never have to worry about finding everything you need to help turn your new spacious home into a joyful event for all your friends or family. So, instead of battling traffic and would-be pyromaniacs this summer, why not celebrate the nation’s birthday in the brand new grounds of the Avalon Community.

Live Theater Minutes Away from Avalon San Dimas
One of the spoiling perks about living at Avalon San Dimas is its easily accessible proximity to two prestigious performing arts theaters – Claremont’s Candlelight Pavilion and Haugh Performing Arts Center at Citrus Community College. Both located only ten minutes in either direction from the upscale living community, these unique venues offer equally entertaining performances at a mere fraction of the big city theater pricing and hassle-free parking.
We often want to complete a night out at the theater with an extravagant dinner beforehand, but when attending Candlelight Pavilion’s fine dining and musical theater, the extra effort of restaurant planning isn’t needed. Owned by the Bollinger family for almost thirty years, this rare and elegant theater offers a three-course gourmet meal to go along with a preshow currently featuring the very talented guitarist, Michael Ryan and of course, the main musical attraction. Not bad for only about sixty bucks a pop!
Popular shows like My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music and Singing in the Rain are just a few of the great classics put on by the often sold out playhouse. For the rest of their 2014 season, Bye Bye Birdie, Shrek the Musical and Monty Python’s Spam-A-Lot are on the horizon.

Biergarten Haus Near Avalon First and M: Imported German Beer and Classic Cuisine
D.C. isn't wanting for restaurants and bars, and yet Biergarten House still stands out in the pack. That's because it boasts perhaps the largest collection of German beers anywhere in the city, and they're available not far from Avalon First and M.
Make the quick trip here between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. for happy hour. It'll only cost you $5 to grab a half-liter of the Stiegl Goldbrau or Franziskaners lagers during happy hour. However, its impressive beer selection is available any time both indoors and out. The heated outdoor beer garden remains open year-round, and it's embellished to evoke Old World Germany (just like the restaurant's interior).
You can also sit down in the dining room for a traditional German meal. Wurst platters might be the most conventional German option (and well-priced), but customers really love the braised pork shank with spicy mustard sauce. While you eat and drink, you can watch soccer or football on TVs scattered throughout the eatery.
